Lucy joined SWLEOC in August 2014 when she took on the role of Performance and Data Quality Coordinator for one year until taking on her current role as GP Liaison Manager.
Lucy has worked within the NHS since 2004 and has gained a lot of experience in various NHS and healthcare organisations, which include Royal Marsden NHS Trust, the Institute of Cancer Research and Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals NHS Trust.
Lucy works closely with both clinical and non-clinical staff in promoting and supporting the quality of services to patients, visitors and staff.
Lucy is currently covering the role for our full time GP Liaison Manager, Charlotte Gaynor – who is on maternity leave. In Charlottes’ absence Lucy is working hard at maintaining relationships with our Primary Care Partners and stakeholders, as well as providing education forums for General Practitioners across South West London, and keeping them updated with changes and enhancements to our service as they happen.
Lucy also works hard at improving the experience of the patient – she, alongside other members of the management team offers new patients a chance to take tour of our specialist centre in regular dedicated ‘Open Days’ where patients and their families are welcomed into the Centre to learn about the journey they are soon to undertake and to answer any concerns they may have. Lucy also conducts a patient forum group, providing patients with an opportunity to feedback about the care they receive in the SWLEOC, and to share any ideas that they may have for improving patient care.
By reviewing and monitoring progress within SWLEOC, Lucy, along with the whole team, can make enhancements to the service solely around patient choice.
