Professor Sochart graduated from Aberdeen University Medical School and undertook Higher Surgical Training in the North West of England, followed by specialist joint replacement Fellowships at the Centre for Hip Surgery, Wrightington and the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital, Birmingham. In 2019, after Consultant posts at the Princess Margaret Rose Elective Orthopaedic Hospital in Edinburgh and in Manchester, he joined The Academic Surgical Unit at SWLEOC to specialise solely in joint replacement surgery and to further his interests in implant development, research and teaching.
